Meet the Staff at Wesley
Thank you for your interest. However, we do not have any open positions at the present time.
Faculty & Staff
The faculty and staff at Wesley Christian Academy are a team of committed and caring professionals. Many of our teachers in both our Early Learning Centre and our elementary school have demonstrated a long-term commitment to Wesley. Some have been with the school for over 20 years, under the leadership of our one and only principal, Mrs. Serio. The majority of our remaining staff have taught at Wesley for over 5 years, with new teachers rounding out the team, primarily joining to reflect our ongoing growth and to replace staff on maternity leave or retirement.
All ELC and elementary teachers are accredited with teaching credentials with either diplomas in Early Childhood Education, Bachelors or Masters in Education. Many have additional specializations such as music, French, physical education, special education, reading, etc. Our Educational Assistants in the Early Learning Centre have various backgrounds ranging from arts to mathematics.
Our teachers have diverse Christian backgrounds but all of them demonstrate their faith and love for God.
Teaching at Wesley
One of the points in our mission statement is to help create a complete child. At Wesley Christian Academy, the teachers are not only dedicated to providing the best instruction and curriculum but also instilling creativity, spirituality, music appreciation and fitness in our students.
Each of our staff is gifted with a myriad of talents. Every teacher runs or co-chairs several activities per term, fostering different skills among students and allowing teachers to know the entire student body. This results in an incredible sense of community and belonging.
Wesley teachers are not only dedicated to the students from the moment they enter the school but till they leave it at the end of the day.
Wesley teachers are not only dedicated to the students from the moment they enter the school but till they leave it at the end of the day. They stay late to tutor their students, run musical or dramatic programs, coach sports teams, or just assist one another. A strong sense of camaraderie and teamwork exists between the teachers which are then passed on to the students.
“Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can.” - John Wesley
