It has been a very busy week at Wesley!
On Tuesday, sixteen students from Grade 6-8 auditioned to be part of the Senior Worship Team or a chapel musician. Students either played an instrument (e.g. piano, violin, guitar, cajón) or sang with accompaniment. It was wonderful to see so many students interested in serving, using the gifts God has given them. It was also amazing to see how encouraging and supportive the students were of each other, before and after their audition.
On Wednesday, over 95 students auditioned for the Dance Troupe during two different lunch recesses and after school. Students had an opportunity to follow the dance instructions of Ms. Romeo but also to showcase any special acro, ballet or gymnastic abilities that they had.
On Thursday afternoon, over 70 students auditioned to be part of the cast of this year’s show – Straight Outta Bethlehem. Students had to memorize and perform two separate groups of lines as well as sing a short song.
We would like to thank all the students that came to try out for the dance troupe or cast auditions, as well as thank all the parents for helping their child(ren) with their lines and/ or adjusting their pick-up schedules to accommodate the audition times. The list of cast and dance troupe members will be announced early next week as practices begin on Thursday! For those who do not get a part in either the dance troupe or cast, you can still be part of the show through the Primary or Senior Choir – which is a really important component of the show as well.
Straight Outta Bethlehem will be performed at Toronto Christian Community Church on Tuesday, December 10th. Please mark you calendars for this exciting event!
