Today’s ELC Chapel Service – February 7, 2025

In our ELC chapel service, the SK1 class led the pledges. Then, Ms. Michelle and Miss Law led the singing of of “Jesus Loves Me” and “Jesus’s Love is Bubbling Over”.

Ms. Michelle shared a simple message about God’s love. She even put on her special headband with two hearts to communicate to the children she wanted to talk about love.

She started by sharing that she loves receiving gifts and showed the students some special things that she has received over the years – a stuffie from her daughter on Mother’s Day, a charm bracelet that was her grandmother’s, a mini “wailing wall” from her Pastor who gave the souvenir to her after a trip to Israel, a graduation angel that she received after she graduated from college, and a book about Canada which helps her to be grateful for having been born in Canada. Ms. Michelle then explained that the Bible is a gift for us. It’s a love letter from Jesus to all His dear children. Every time she reads it, her heart lights up because she knows that God loves her. Then she shared the verse from 1 John 3:1 and started telling individual students by name that God loves them!

To Ms. Michelle, the Bible is like a Valentine’s Card from Jesus. Then, she asked students with a birthday in February to go to the front. Those individuals each chose a special card from her treasure box. Additional students who were sitting nicely also were chosen to go the front to get a Valentine’s card. To include all the students in the room, she asked Ms. Lin to shower the students with bubbles and asked them to think of them as kisses from Jesus, because He loves all of them!

Ms. Michelle then prayed, asking God to bless the children and to let them know that He loves each of them.

To conclude, everyone sang “What a Mighty God We Serve”.
