Parents
The support of parents plays a critical role in the success of any child’s education. Many studies have shown that parents who are active in their child’s education have children who are successful at school. At Wesley Christian Academy, parents are encouraged to stay informed about their child’s progress, homework schedule, classroom activities, extra-curricular programs, and school-wide events. This is achieved through information in the student’s agenda (which must be initialled by parents nightly), the weekly newsletter, emails, the school website, and personal conversations with teachers. Our friendly and caring teachers are often willing and able to speak to parents before or after school and are responsive to email inquiries.
Studies have also shown that one key component of the success of any school is the level of parental support. At Wesley, we have a strong network of parents who volunteer to make many of the school events a success. Our parent volunteers help with activities such as serving the holiday lunch at Thanksgiving, supervising on class field trips, counting the money that was raised at major fundraisers, and any other activity – big or small – at which the school requires assistance. In addition, parents support the Wesley community by praying.
The Parent Prayer Team meets monthly to fellowship and pray for the school, teachers, alumni, Wesley families and extended loved ones, and whoever needs to be uplifted to our Lord.
Wesley parents are a close community and readily willing to help the school and each other!
