Due to the untimely Snow Day last week, our Cultural Day event had to be rescheduled for today. Students and teachers came dressed in traditional attire that reflect their heritage. Those who did not have a special cultural garment to wear showed off their Canadian patriotism instead. There were lots of examples of red & white clothing, Canadian sports jerseys, clothing with the Canadian flag, red and black buffalo plaid, etc.
At 10:05 AM, everyone had a chance to participate in a parade in the gym. It was a great opportunity for the students to see one another and celebrate each other’s heritage. The ELC students were a little apprehensive at first, but when they spied some familiar faces in the audience, their faces lit up!
Our school cafeteria even joined in the festivities by serving a special Cultural Day meal to reflect French and French Canadian culture – croissant sandwiches and poutine!
