In the Grade 5 Bible Curriculum, we have been studying the Old Testament and focusing on the history of the Israelites after they settled in the Promised Land. In each of the units, there is a character trait that is connected to the main character or story. Through each of the character traits, we are learning how we can apply that character trait in our daily lives and to those around us. Some of these traits include: Integrity, Courage, Hope, Devotion, and Faithfulness.
The Grade 5’s were asked to choose a character trait that we have learned so far and design a character trait poster. In the character trait poster, students were asked to draw five images and write five short phrases that describe the character trait they chose. The Grade 5’s were exceptionally creative by including Bible memory verses and drawing different scenarios of how someone might demonstrate this trait. Students were also asked to reflect on their own life of how they can apply this character trait at home, at school, and at church towards others.
