Earlier this month, the grade 5 classes completed a French unit called “Tous des Champions” that was all about different sports, and sporting events like the Olympics. To finish off this unit, the grade 5 students completed a project called “Mon Banniere Olympique!”. They were tasked with creating a banner to introduce themselves as an athlete. The students used lots of the vocabulary they learned through the unit to share their sport, the equipment they use, where they play it, and their country of origin.
Each student also presented their banner to the class, and talked a little bit about the sport they chose.
The students were very creative in their banner design, with many including the flag of their country of origin.
Throughout this unit, it was great to see students get excited about the sports they play or dream of playing, and they put that excitement into creating their banners as well.
