The Grade 7 students have been doing a novel study on Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt. To make the study more exciting, the classroom was transformed into a courtroom, and the students into lawyers and witnesses.
Of course, no court case is complete without proper costumes! In the pictures, you’ll find a constable, a grandmother and two main characters being questioned by the prosecutor/ defense attorney.
The witnesses also promised to tell the truth and only the TRUTH!
Both teams dug deep into the novel to prepare their cases. The courtroom was filled with laughter and excitement and the occasional ‘OBJECTION, your honor!’ The flair they demonstrated in their speeches and the sharp questions they asked showed they really understood the novel. And of course, there was no doubt that everyone had a good time and wanted another debate soon.
