Over the past two weeks, our PK2 students have been on a journey exploring rainforest ecology and the world of jungle animals.
Through interactive discussions, students learned about the forest floor, understory, canopy, and emergent layers, discovering the unique characteristics of each layer and the diverse animals that live in each layer. Driven by the curiosity of our students, we had deeper discussions about jungle animals, focusing on elephants, monkeys, frogs, and snakes. We explored their dietary habits and learned about their natural predators.
To make the learning more enjoyable, we provided various theme-related activities. Our boys and girls used their creativity crafting monkeys, boas, and a caiman both individually and through collaborative group work.
They also had opportunities to engage in imaginative role-playing using theme-related props, fostering social and emotional development.
