On Thursday, the Grade 3A & 3B classes visited Black Creek Pioneer Village. This field trip supported the Social Studies unit on early settlers in Upper Canada. Upon arrival, the Grade 3 classes broke up into smaller groups to explore the historic village. Students visited buildings that real settlers built in Upper Canada. They also had a chance to participate in activities that typical pioneers would have had to do as part of their daily life, such as carding wool, churning butter, weaving, etc.

As you can see from the photos, they had a beautiful day for hands-on learning. A BIG THANK YOU goes to the many parents who volunteered to help lead a group and for the teachers that took these photos to help the rest of us see how much fun the students had! Enjoy these pictures and many more on our Facebook page.
