House Team Day – February 19, 2025

On Wednesday, we held our House Team Day celebration for the term. JK-Grade 8 students enjoyed a day of showing their House Team spirit. Elementary students were greeted by the House Team Captains as they entered the building in the morning. At each of the three lunch periods, students sat with their fellow House Team members.

During the afternoon assembly, students chanted their House Team cheers.

Then, they played special “minute to win it” games. Teams of two consisting of representatives from each House Tema by grade competed in Valentine’s heart themed games. The skill level required increased by grade. The JK and SKs had a relay of filling buckets with ping pong balls.

Grade 1 and 2’s had to dance or jump until the ping pong balls in tissue boxes strapped to their waists were empty!

Grade 3 and 4 students had to fill containers with candy hearts using chopsticks!

Grade 5-6 were blindfolded and had to organize a series of buckets containing candied hearts in sequence from least to most, just from listening to the sound of the hearts in the containers when shaken!

And…the Grade 7-8s had to stack as many candied hearts as possible onto a popsicle stick held in their mouths!

Contestants were given 1 minute in each of these games to complete their challenge!

After the games, it was time came to reveal the House Team point total. The winning team would be able to wear casual clothes on Monday, February 24th! Everyone was quite anxious as it has been a tight race between Fry and Osborne at the top for most of this school year. The gym roared when it was announced that Fry is still in first place! With Term 2 drawing to a close after March Break, there is still time for every team to continue to work hard to earn more points before the end of the year. Congratulations, Fry House!!!
