All of our students at Wesley are special and talented in some way. God has blessed each of us with tremendous gifts and potential, each unique and designed to shine at designated moments in our lives.
At times, we like to recognize and congratulate some of the special accomplishments that some of our students achieve outside of their studies at Wesley.
On September 18th, two siblings (Kaia– Grade 7 and Ezekiel – Grade 4) competed in the regional Drive, Chip and Putt Championship at the Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, New York. This competition was founded in 2013 by the Masters Tournament, United States Golf Association and The PGA of America. It is a free nationwide junior golf skills development competition. It is open to girls and boys ages 7-15 who advance through local, sub-regional and regional qualifying in each age/gender category. The winners of each region earn a place in the National Finals. This takes place at Augusta National Golf Club the Sunday before the Masters Tournament.
Both Kaia and Ezekiel competed in the regional championship in their own respective categories. Ezekiel won his age category and Kaia placed 6th in hers! The other amazing thing is that their older sisters, Mia (WCA Class of 2019) and Giselle (WCA Class of 2021) also competed in this regional tournament in 2017. Mia won her age group while Giselle finished 7th in hers!
Congratulations to both students for their accomplishments! For more details and photos of the regional tournament, please click here. We look forward to seeing Ezekiel in the National Finals on Sunday, April 2nd, 2023. It will be broadcast live on the Golf Channel.
