Fostering Interests Through Extracurricular Activities
The optimal way to get to know more about the Wesley experience and its vibrant learning community is to come for a visit. We invite you and your family to come and experience Wesley.
Extracurricular Arts & Clubs
At Wesley Christian Academy, one of our main goals is to help raise a complete child. In order for this to occur, we believe that students need to foster interests through extracurricular activities. Every student has different talents and given the right opportunity, each can shine and demonstrate their individual gift.
Students who enjoy demonstrating their artistic abilities have a variety of creative possibilities. Each year, Wesley produces a musical production that requires many hands to showcase their dramatic, musical, and artistic talents. Students with interests in music can also join the Primary or Senior Choir, the school band, or have the unique experience of being a part of the boom whackers ensemble. Boom whackers are lightweight, hollow, color-coded, plastic tubes, tuned to musical pitches by length. They are used as musical instruments in the percussion family. Individual students use these instruments to produce beautiful music together, one note at a time.
Wesley has also added clubs and activities after school for which students must pay a small fee to account for the use of external instructors and materials. We have brought in chess instructors, Mad Science teachers, art classes, Bricks for Kids (Lego), Robotics (Logics Academy) and many more. These are very popular with students and parents. They give students an opportunity to try new and different activities, without having to add an extra stop to very busy after school schedules.
No matter what your child’s talents, interests, or ambitions, they will find at least one activity in which they can excel and enjoy!“Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can.” - John Wesley
