The optimal way to get to know more about the Wesley experience and its vibrant learning community is to come for a visit. We invite you and your family to come and experience Wesley.

Today’s Chapel Service – September 20, 2024

This morning, three of our Grade 8 students led the recitation of the pledges, The Lord’s Prayer, O Canada and the Land Acknowledgement.

Right afterwards, we had a special recognition of Mr. On’s birthday. Mr. On is our custodian and he is a critical part of our Wesley family who takes care of so many behind the scenes responsibilities. The elementary students and staff sang “Happy Birthday” and wished him a very special day.

Our first worship song was “Lord I lift Your Name On High”. Students then watched the “How do CRIPS leaders demonstrate respect?” video, read 1 Peter 2:17 and reviewed a few slides about how respectful leaders behave. This was followed with the singing of “Awesome God “with lots of actions.

Next, students watched a video entitled “CRISP Kid Questions – Topic of Respect”. It featured a variety of Wesley students sharing their thoughts about “What is respect?” and “Why do CRISP leaders need to show respect?”

Our guest speaker was Pastor Jeremiah from the Olive Branch Community Church. His message was about respect and echoed many of the messages that were seen in the videos and slides earlier. However, he also emphasized a few additional points. He reiterated that we are all God’s creation and every one of God’s creations deserves respect, not only people, but things as well. This led him to the point about being good stewards and the need to take care of the things that we have been given to use, enjoy or be a part of. Pastor Jeremiah also reminded us that leaders are here to serve others and Jesus is our perfect example of a leader, as He treated everyone with respect and humility. Before he closed in prayer, Pastor Jeremiah asked the students to close their eyes and think about one way that they can show respect today. Then, he thanked Jesus for being the best leader to follow and to help each of us show respect to others.

To conclude the service, the audience sang “Our God is Greater”. Mr. Bailey then closed in prayer before the students were dismissed to start their day of classes.
