Today’s ELC Chapel Service – December 6, 2024

The Toddler 2 class led this morning’s ELC chapel service. After the pledges, O Canada and the Lord’s Prayer, Ms. Wu led the audience in singing three classic children’s songs – “I’ve Got the Joy”, “Jesus Loves the Little Children”, and “Jesus Loves Me”.

Ms. Wu’s message to the children was about sharing Jesus’s love with others, and she used a great demonstration to make her point. First, she took a permanent marker to draw a big heart and some smaller ones above it. Next, she coloured the big heart with a red marker, representing Jesus’s love. Then, she put the bottom of the paper towel in some water. As the sheet absorbed the water, the red ink moved up as well, filling the empty hearts with red colouring!

As the students waited for this process to take shape, they sang a few songs again about Jesus’s love.

After the singing, Ms. Wu directed the children to the colour transfer on the paper towel. She explained that when we show kindness to others, we are showing Jesus’s love to other people, especially those who are sad or empty inside. She encouraged everyone to spread Jesus’s love and to be kind to all.

Ms. Jerry then led the students in prayer to end the service.
