The PK2 class led the ELC chapel service this morning. Representatives led the pledges, the Lord’s Prayer and O Canada. Mrs. Goco led the praise and worship, energizing the students with great animation and enthusiasm to praise our Lord.

Mrs. Brown, dressed impeccably as “Farmer Brown”, delivered a message about the Fruit of the Spirit, with special focus on “Love”. Using a large assortment of props to transform the cafeteria into a farmer’s market and orchard, Farmer Brown also enlisted the help of one of her students to “unwrap” each of the Fruit of the Spirit. As each one was presented, Farmer Brown read each one aloud and gave a short explanation of each fruit and how students can demonstrate it. After harvesting all the special Fruit of the Spirit, Farmer Brown returned to the first fruit – Love. She explained that she loves God SO MUCH that she had to sing about it. She then led the students in singing “Love the Lord Your God”.

After the enthusiastic action filled song, Farmer Brown used a video to recap her message. It featured the PK2 class, showing groups of students demonstrating a specific Fruit of the Spirit in the classroom. It also shared the message that love is when we see someone through the eyes of God, using two verses from the Bible (1 John 4:8 and John 3:16) to support it. It also emphasized that when we have Jesus in our hearts, we have the capacity to pray for others and to demonstrate love, which is what it means to have the Fruit of the Spirit.

To end the service, Farmer Brown asked representatives from each class to come to the front to help her sing “It’s About L-O-V-E, Love”.
