Today’s ELC Chapel Service – June 14, 2024

Today was our last ELC chapel service of the 2023-2024 school year. Our toddlers, JK and SK classes were present. The PK classes were absent as they had a special visit from York Regional Police as part of their Community Helpers program.

Our SK 1 class led the pledges, O Canada and the Lord’s Prayer. Mrs. Chioconi led the singing of “This Little Light of Mine”. The students sang loudly and enthusiastically!

Today’s message came in the form of a Veggie Tales video. It reinforced the message that God loves us. He is bigger than anything that we may fear, and He is always taking care of us. These messages were communicated through the story of Daniel and the Lion’s Den.

After the video, the students watched the Care & Share message that was put together by the SK1 class. On Monday, we will be collecting donations to help The Centre for Dreams, which is a day program dedicated to providing a curriculum designed specifically for adults living with a developmental disability. The centre has a wish list of needed materials to support their programs. We are challenging each class to raise money to buy these items.

Next, all the SK students went up to the front and sang two songs for the audience. We had a sneak preview of the beautiful songs that they will be singing as part of SK Graduation next Friday.

Mrs. Chioconi closed the service with a prayer, thanking God for taking care of us and leading us through this school year.
