Our ELC students gathered in the cafeteria this morning for their worship service. As it was an elementary PA Day, the kindergarten students were permitted to wear casual clothes. The JK2 class led the pledges, the Lord’s Prayer and the singing of O Canada. Miss Law, Ms. Seto and Mrs. Griffith led the students in singing two songs – “Praise” and “Oh Hallelujah” with lots of energetic action.
Mrs. Seto then shared a message about The Great Commission. She started the message by entering the cafeteria like a “spy” using the “Mission Impossible” theme music.
She linked this to our very special and important mission that is found in Matthew 28:18-20, “Jesus came and told his disciples… go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you.” Mrs. Seto emphasized the three things that we need to do for our special mission,
- GO make disciples
- BAPTIZE them and
- TEACH them to obey JESUS.
She encouraged the children to share the Gospel message with their friends and other people wherever they go. Mrs. Seto then used a short video – “The Great Commission” to complement her message. She ended the chapel service in a short prayer for the children.
Afterwards, representatives from the JK2 class went to the front to lead our closing song, “High and Low”.
