A Typical Day in the JK or SK Classrooms at Wesley
The optimal way to get to know more about the Wesley experience and its vibrant learning community is to come for a visit. We invite you and your family to come and experience Wesley.
Typical Schedule
Students in the Early Learning Centre can arrive as early as 7:00 AM. Those who have breakfast at school are expected to arrive by 8:00 AM. Otherwise, students should arrive for school before 9:00 AM.
Junior Kindergarten Typical Schedule
A typical school day for a student in JK will involve the following:
- Two separate one-hour periods of outdoor time in our playgrounds or in the elementary school yard to ride tricycles or play with balls, skipping ropes, etc.
- Review of calendar, school pledges and O Canada
- Lessons in phonics and math with time to complete worksheets designed to reinforce and practices concepts taught
- Bible lesson through stories and song
- Arts & crafts and science group activities (to develop sensory, cognitive, fine motor, language skills, etc.)
- Washroom Routine
- Meals (Breakfast, Lunch and Afternoon Snack)
- Rest Time
- Learning Centre Exploration (indoor free play at various organized themed centres)

A typical school day for a student in SK will involve the following:

- Introduction to French (3 times per week)
- Small Group Lessons (Review/ Extra Help, Science Discovery, Art or Sensory Play, Reading, Writing, STEM challenges, etc.)
- Washroom Routine
- Meals (Breakfast, Lunch and Afternoon Snack)
- Rest Time
- Arts & Crafts
- Indoor free play
